Why the Change in Names?

Just a random question: why was Sebastain and Caryl's last name changed from Sanger to Dubrok? Since this is a sequel to The Constant Nymph, this inconsistency seemed peculiar, especially since the first film was released only a few years prior to this one. Thanks in advance!

I'm aware the same person wrote the source material for them, but is it intended to be a sequel?

I'm not sure if any name changes took place for The Constant Nymph films, but wasn't Sanger the old guy who had all the daughters? Why would Sebastian and Caryl have his last name since he had daughters, not sons.

The first Constant Nymph film was a silent film. It had been remade several times before the most popular version.

In the 1935 movie version of "Escape Me Never" was about the Sanger family.

Wikipedia, however, states the original play changed the family name to Durbok.

The original novel and source material "The Fool of the Family" (1930) was about the Sanger family and a sequel to "The Constant Nymph". In the novel, Caryl and Sebastian were the sons of Albert Sanger, who appeared in The Constant Nymph.

None of this explains why the names were changed for the Flynn movie or the play.
