*Spoilers* wanted! How did it end?

You only missed a teensy bit. She tells the uncle that she knows that her husband is alive. He tells her that Jim's father had been insane and Jim and his sister inherited it. Jim had killed a man, and sentence to the uncle's care for life. That kept a scandal from ruining the senator, the uncle's brother. I hope I'm keeping all the characters straight. Anyway, after he says this, Jim comes out of the woods and tries to kill them. He ends up falling off a balcony to his death. The uncle says it's better this way, and it looks like Stanwyck and the uncle are going to live happily ever after. The end.
