Why so few posts??????

This was an outstanding movie and very controversial for its time. How come there is so little discussion about this great film noir.

Why so little discussion about it? Because it's an old, b&w movie....people don't care about old movies anymore, and certainly not ones that aren't in color. There's a few exceptions - if it's really well-known, like the Wizard of Oz, or Gone with the Wind, or Casablanca, etc....but generally speaking, you'll find, on average, many pages more board posts about almost ANY major Hollywood movie from the past 10 years, no matter how crappy (and most of them are pretty crappy), than you will for even well-crafted 40's noirs like Crossfire....or early 30's dramas like The Divorcee or comedies like Red Headed Woman. "Geez, they're all in black and white!!" ;-)

There's a handful of people out there (like me), of various ages, who appreciate old movies, old music, etc but the vast majority of folks today could not care less. Most of the pages for movies of this vintage number only one page of board posts; modern films usually have multiple pages --- and that's regardless of quality, as I said. Sad.

Actually, a more accurate response would be that IMDB regularly goes through and weeds out inactive threads more than 'x' years old. There are MANY movie boards that in the past have had a dozen pages of threads that suddenly only have one or two.

Why so many question marks?
