The movie is beyond ham-fisted,and preachy ,and they even threw anti second amendment speech,meanwhile treating the Communist Party as if it were equal to Republican and Democrat parties ,ignoring the fact Communism has killed hundreds of millions of people where ever it has taken hold... A anti-American film with Communist message ..meanwhile during this time period Communist Jewish spies were stealing and selling America military secrets....

i have seen it on tv yesterday and i couldnt find anything communist there
(though maybe the tv-version was a cut).
at the time this film came out nobody was able to know what will be in USSR years later.
if you dont want to see documentaries about this
i would recommend the films Trumbo and Reds to get an idea about communism in the USA
and the USSR were still allies with the USA that time.
