I'm in the midst of reading the book right now. I don't remember the outcome of the case, but I will check it out and let you know. I have not seen the movie. According to the book, Jinny was small, brunette and very attractive. At least they got the attractive part right with Lana Turner. Though only 5'3", Lana does not project as small on the big screen. The role was made to order for a Spencer Tracy in his early forties. I see he was 46 or 47 when he was in this movie. Lana was in her mid twenties, so at least they got her age right.

I went back and reread about the case. I finally found where they mentioned the verdict. The lady won. She was asking for $500, but was awarded only $200. Two hundred was a nice sum in those days, so she was quite happy.

How very nice of you... Thanx...and $200 isn't too shabby now! lol

According to the Federal Reserve Bank, $200.00 in 1947 would be equal to $2,112.00 today (2014).
