Commentary on DVD(which is now available)

The DVD of Boomerang is definitely available. Blockbuster sent it to me a couple days ago, and I just watched it, found it most enjoyable. Give it a second viewing with the Commentary on. Alain Silver and James Ursini are excellent.

I listened to the commentary, and I could have sworn that one of them said that Arthur Kennedy had played Willy Loman in a stage production under Elia Kazan's direction before appearing in Boomerang as Waldron.

But I just looked it up, and Death of a Salesman wasn't first performed until 1949, and while Kennedy was in it, he didn't play Loman, Lee J. Cobb did.

Did I just imagine that one of them said that? It seems like a pretty big mistake, but I have heard Alain Silver say totally incorrect things in DVD interviews before. Or it could have been James Ursini who said it.

Anyone have any insight?

I'm responding to your post from 3 years ago, so it may be kind of late to get an answer to your question. I just watched "Boomerang" today and then listened to the commentary. They said Lee J. Cobb starred as Willy Loman, and Arthur Kennedy played his son, Biff. Given their relative ages, that makes sense.
