are like daggers in this film. I don't think I have ever seen that look in her eyes in another film I have seen.

What is with Mr Deans ridiculous cloths? They are at 9,000 feet and he dresses like he's in Hawaii. No man's legs were ever more deserving of pants. Yikes!

They're at 9,000 (or however many) feet just north of the equator. It can be assumed to be quite warm.

Mr Dean is doing a slow strip-tease (apart from the Christmas scenes). Every time you see him he's wearing fewer clothes

If Mr Dean is English then even a cold environment to Indian standards would still be quite warm to him. It also serves to have him wearing not very much to amp up the sexual tension between him and the nuns.

And yes, Deborah Kerr was one of the really impressive actresses from that era. She never gave a bad performance and was pretty versatile in any role.
