I live in San Angelo
I saw this movie once in my history class. It was actually filmed somewhere in Utah. I've lived in San Angelo all my life and it looks nothing like what the movie shows. Nothing against the movie, though.

Saw it again today and I could not help thinking how innocent times were sixty years ago compared to the present.
The plot is really bland and the ending predictable; the acting is wooden; the Trucolour print has not survived well.
However, I thoroughly enjoyed the film. It took me back to my own very young days when Roy and Gene Autry films were de rigeur for many young boys, and indeed some not so young.
We were less sophisticated then in our tastes because we did not have the range of choice, and thus experience, youngsters have now.
A nostalgic experience and one that todays' young people might watch to get an idea of what their grandparents used to enjoy.
