What a beautiful film
I've seen it a few times, so when it comes on TCM I usually tell myself I'm not going to watch again....but then it comes on and the cinamatography pulls me in again, then the gorgeousness of Gregory Peck, the beauty of Jane Wyman (who never looked more beautiful in any movie, btw), the incredible pull of the nature scenes, the script, direction, story, etc., and I HAVE to watch. I'm never disappointed. Just a lovely, wonderful film. I'm usually crying by the time Jane is standing by the gravestones, which is shortly into the movie, and by then I'm hooked. Only the best is to come. Every scene in this film is what movies are all about. If you have not seen it, you must.
