The movie kinda falls apart in the last quarter

Wayne and Colbert are never seen together. Anyone have any ideas as to why this was done?

John Wayne and Claudette Colbert are frequently on screen together. Maybe you meant Cary Grant?

The entire "Mexican farm" segment was unnecessary. It was pointless and really brought the film to a halt.

Agreed about the farm sequence... I don't see what that segment was meant to establish... Colbert is jealous?... Wayne is fickle?... I'm guessing they felt they needed some 'event' along the way... local color... but it is kind of shove the pacing into the sand for a bit.

The movie seems to get a bit muddled about what it's trying to do in the latter bits.
