Check out the ladies attire (especially cocktail hats) in "The Big Clock".

I've seen that film, but I just don't remember the clothing.
I did notice the lovely costumes in the 1954 film Sabrina....and in the 40s film Laura...

Yes, most definitely Sabrina and Laura. The cocktail party celebrating Laura's "return" calls to mind that era's style for me, particularly.
