What kinda tribe??

Watched this last night on DVD; don't remember seeing it as a kid. Great, loony fun. It has to be, since Cheetah is practically John Gielgud when it comes to the acting skills of Acquanetta!
But, why no black people. I noticed that some 40's "jungle" films I've seen are bereft of blacks. The so-called natives here look like a mix of Hispanics, Polynesians and Asians. Since when does an African location have not one black person?
Returning on July 29, 2015: Wow, more than 4 years go by and noone ever answered my post. Too hot to handle, or noone has watched this movie?
