I just watched this movie today on TCM.I was very disappointed because at no time does Tarzan do his famous yell.Entertaining film,but for me if a Tarzan movie lacks swinging through the jungles on vines(which he also doesn't do here) & the Tarzan yell,it just isn't right.

This is an RKO movie -- the first 6 were MGM.
I've read that MGM had a copyright on the Tarzan yell and wouldn't let RKO use it.
I've also been watching the TCM series, and I've noticed that the yell seems to be missing from most of the RKO entries, with the exception of the first one, "Tarzan Triumphs." In that one, the yell sounds different from the original yell in the MGM films. Supposedly, the original yell was electronically produced and the copyright for it did not devolve to RKO.
shareThey wisely stopped trying to emulate the famous Tarzan yell after their first film. The yell in Tarzan Triumphs was just awful. It's scarcely a Tarzan film without the ape man yelling as he swings through the trees, but then again the RKO films were scarcely proper adaptations themselves.
