Clever writing

I saw this at the cinema as a kid, and was surprised at how well it holds up.
There was one very clever bit of writing, where the little gangster Kimba is befriended by Tarzan's family, while he really hopes to kill Jane and rip out her heart to prove his worth as a warrior. Tarzan and Boy have gone away for awhile, and Jane says to Kimba, "You're a boy after my own heart", and he freezes, thinking she is onto him, until she continues, "I couldn't make do without you", and he relaxes. Very clever that.

I also note that Dennis Hoey is really playing the dense Inspector Lestrade here as well as he did in the Rathbone Holmes movies, albeit his name and title is different.

Not surprising a native child doesn't recognize an English idiom!

That was a good line.
