A Great Noir (almost)

I thought this was a well done noir B movie, great twists, turns and plenty of irony, well worth watching. But..... I was infuriated at the ending, people in noir don't wake up from a dream and everything is peachy keen like in the Wizard of Oz. What were they thinking, was the ending tacked on by studio execs for better sales? I would advise anyone watching for the first time to shut the movie off 2 minutes from the end, you'll be much more satisfied.

I thought the twist at the end was great-because I wasn't expecting it. I have to agree though that it made it look like women in those days had no business putting off marriage. Not to mention the leading man was nothing to look at.
