I really enjoyed this movie and was wondering if there are any other movies (from the 40s-50s, preferably) with similar subject matter.

It was 1967, but Wait Until Dark with Audrey Hepburn is similar.

Different storyline, but "Gaslight" with Ingrid Bergman had a similar feel to it. One of my favorite classic suspense thrillers!
Also, "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" and "Picture of Dorian Gray" were good. Another one that I vaguely remember as being kind of haunting was "A Portrait of Jenny" with Jennifer Jones and Joseph Cotten, but I don't remember much about it.
