Was this film developed for Greer Garson?

Seems like this would have been a perfect vehicle developed for Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon, what happened? Colbert is perfectly fine in the role and i have no complaints. But I wondered what was Greer busy with instead. Maybe they felt they should split them up now and then.

I can't imagine Greer Garson in the role of Lee. I know she often worked with Walter Pidgeon but I'm glad she wasn't in this one. It's not that I'm a huge fan of Claudette Colbert either. I think she's fine. I enjoy her movies, including this one, but I don't necessarily seek her out the way I do certain other actors. I feel about the same way about Greer Garson. She's been in many movies I've liked but I can't really say I'm a big fan of hers.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
