Who had the better gams, Turner ...

Cora/Turner in this movie or Phyllis/Stanwyck "Double Indemnity" ?

When Turner walks into the room the first time, dropping the cap to her lipstick, we are treated to a great shot of her lovely legs - except I always noticed that bit of chubby flesh she had around and below her knee caps. She was overall more gorgeous than Stanwyck I guess but Stanwycks strut down the stairs in DI, yowza !!

Not to mention Stanwyck could act circles around Lana Turner. I don't think Turner was much of an actress, she gave the exact same performance in every film she was in. Probably best in Imitation of Life. She was considered a beauty I imagine.

John Garfield and Cecil Kelloway were good in this one. With a better script and an actress who could match Garfield and this movie would have been a real classic film noir.

The remake with Jack Nicholson and Jessica Lange wasn't as good as the original, IMO.
