Should have been called the Monty Woolley story

This was the WORST biopic I've ever seen. Quite possibly the worst movie I've seen on the entire TCM catalogue. Monty Woolley was the ONLY interesting character. Cary Grant played Cole Porter with as much personality as wet paper bag.

A total waste of time I'll never get back.

Well, there's good reason why it should have been called the "Monty Woolley Story" --- Monty Woolley was playing his own life role ! Previous to becoming a movie actor, Woolley had actually been an academic, taught at Yale, and fostered Cole Porter's early career ! I'd go so far as to say that the most realistic part of the whole biopic (besides the great music, of course) was Monty's role.

Monty was certainly the best thing about it!

Woolley was flat-out annoying! Way too much screen time.
