Night Editor radio show

I've only heard a few of the radio shows, I don't think there are that many, but, from the ones I have heard, I don't know how a film noir movie could have been developed from a 15 minute radio show that was largely an ad for Edwards Coffee. Some of the episodes were about crime, but some were mildly humorous.
