I feel that this movie is very underrated. It has brilliant cinematography and (mostly) good acting. It is certainly a better movie than the more famous Germania Anno Zero.
Considering the very limited resources they must have had, this is a magnificent film.
I rated this 9/10. With a more engaging and well-developed story this would have been a masterpiece.
I agree ... but GAZ gets extra points for being that of a very famous Director and was part of a war trilogy. That would be brand value.
Regardless this film is a 7.6 right now and I could never give it an 8 ... nor could I give GAZ (currently a 7.9) and 8.

It's somewhat difficult not to dish out a 10 for it. Think about the circumstances, just after WWII, with actually the situation of everyone being similar to the one shown.
Cinematography is excellent, acting okay, and the plot daring, for one year after the end of WWII, plus the murderers actually being alive, in real life.
