Too many cuts, what's up?

I watched this as Bridgestone release of a 7-disc set and it is poor. There are cuts that leave many unexplained plot holes. Stuff comes from out of nowhere. This is the fourth of this set I have watched and the only one that I think is too poor to recommend. It's rated 6.8 on IMDb so others must have a better version.

From the Trivia page: This film is in the public domain, meaning anyone can sell it on DVD. Copies that are sold of it range from "decent" to "very poor". (Original run time was 79 min., while the edited version was cut to 54 min. That's significant!)
