It's nice to see strong female characters in older movies. I also found it funny, and telling, that Margie's debate was about keeping the marines in Nicaragua!

It is a little eerie considering the fact Hilary to running for the position. Let's hope she wins. I was watching the film for a brief moment, yes grandma was way before her time! The think the bf had great admiration for the old lady even if he did not agree. In the 1980's film, Anne of Green Gables, Marilla and Rachel were fighting for a woman's right to vote in turn of the century Canada.

Yes. The movie was made in 1946, but when the Grandma said this, it was supposed to be 1928.
