Strong performances by the three leads particularity David Niven as an antagonistic Burr and a well-directed narrative. Though its patriotic message was forced through to the point of preaching audiences.
"I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not".
I thought it was OK, it had some good moments. For me David Niven was miscast but he did well.The ending was certainly tediously preachy, for me Burgess Meredith stole the show.
I gave it 5/10.
Not really my type of film. I watched it for the sake of seeing Burgess Meredith. I liked him in it. He managed to sustain my interest but the film's a bit too soppy overall.
