What's with the girls calling the boys 'Uncle'?

Coffie called Andy "Uncle Andrew" more than once.

I can't answer the 'uncle' question, but since you mentioned Coffy (Dorothy Ford), apart from Lina Romay's effective bit minuscule screen-time, Coffy was the best part of the movie.

I know younger kids can be cruel about physical peculiarities (Dorothy Ford was 6 ft. 2 in. tall), but she was such a stunning knockout, I can't believe every guy on campus wouldn't have been crawling all over her.

I like the fact that she was proud of her height and didn't try to make herself look more diminuative, and said that a man would have to like her for who she was.

Considering the times, that was pretty forward thinking. It would be another 25 years before women started changing their thinking about "catching a man" overall.
