Hasn't anybody else ever seen this fun movie?

This is not one of the greatest movie ever made nor particularly one of Danny Kaye's best efforts. I do enjoy watching this movie, however, only partly because of Danny Kaye (I've been a big fan since childhood) but also because of Eve Arden; she steals every scene she's in. Now that I think of it, I believe the supporting actors are more fun to watch in this than the stars.

I've just seen this fun movie. My second Danny Kaye. Also second Vera-Ellen and Virginia Mayo(who I couldn't help looking at). I seen them 3 first in Wonder Man(1945). Anyways, I, too enjoyed watching this movie.

The comedy is good in this one, even better than in 'Walter Mitty'. It was worth all the trouble I went to to find it. That's not to say it's not really silly and hokey, but it's at least fun to watch. Kaye made some real stinkers later in his career.

First time I have ever seen this was today. What a classic and glad I had my DVR set to record all Danny Kaye movies/TV shows. Specially loved the Russian Music Masters bit.

There is more Gravy about you then the Grave. Scrooge.

I'm watching it right now and loving it!
Well ... except for the musical numbers which are superfluous and unmemorable.

But the non-musical parts are great fun. Definitely up there with The Court Jester and Hans Christian Anderson.

Much better than Up In Arms which I watched the other day. :-)
