Which 4 minutes were missing?

What was missing from the U.S. re-release? imdb lists it at 124 instead of 128 minutes. Just curious.

You're joking, right?

You have a weird sense of humor for a Jolson fan...

What hole did you crawl out of?

He was getting the blow job while in black face singing Mammy.

Seriously speaking, although I don't know for definite, it could have had an Overture when it was first released.

I know -

answering a very old post, but I found this comment on Youtube -- under a teaser of The Jolson Story... and it was posted 4 years ago:

----------------

The TJS DVD was released with NO extras.

The deleted "Sonny Boy" scene from TJS has never been located. Although I did find the deleted "Cantor on the Sabbath" scene which runs about four minutes.

It's being returned to Sony Pictures soon. Perhaps they'll include it as an extra on a future DVD release of TJS. Write them!!!

---------

So maybe this is the four minutes?

It is also possible that they have got the running time of a PAL copy mixed up with the original running time.

Let Zygons Be Zygons.
