Sounds like all he says is "Vio-let Bick! Mehhhry Christmas!" But yeah, it does seem that he says it in a way like he's coming on to her. Thanks for pointing that out---I never noticed it in all previous viewings! What I never understood is did Ernie just happen to remember that he had the telegram in his pocket or something? Why didn't he burst into the room with such good news? Unless someone can spot a messenger boy sneak in & out of the scene?
shareDid you also get the idea from Ernie's expression in the cab (in the George-is-unborn sequence), that he was going to pull over, grab George & throw him out into the snow, after George makes the comment about being to Ernie's house a hundred times; (implying that George has been carrying on with Ernie's wife)? Though, this is just before Ernie settles the issue by saying that his wife has been gone for three years & took their son with her. Just for one split instant, though, Ernie had that "fire under his a$$" look & wanted to kick George's tail!! haha!
