Gilda and Johnny after "Gilda"

I think they have some serious issues to work through as a couple and Johnny's contrite "take me with you" isn't going to be enough if jealousy and distrust is the reason he left Gilda the first time - because it certainly caused him to go off his rocker the second time. Great film noir though!

They go home to post-war America and then what? Happy ending dictates he stops gambling and gets a job. Gilda becomes June Cleaver.

I assume that the interpretation of Johnny and Gilda's future will be positive now that the negatives aspects of their relationship, which occurred throughout the film, have been resolved.

I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.
