THAT KISS

Maybe it's because I don't watch a lot of noir, or the titillation of seeing "Lucy Ricardo" in a whole different light, but didn't that scene where she leans over his desk and he clutches her tightly, bends her back over the desk in an embrace and gives her a long kiss in a lingering close-up seem unusually intimate and racy?

It foreshadowed a deleted scene from I LOVE LUCY, in which "THAT" kiss is re-created by Lucy and Fred Mertz.

Another racy aspect was when he spent the night in her apartment after being framed. Although it was innocent since he slept on the couch, that was pretty daring for the mid 1940's. Did you catch the look on the milkman's face when Galt grabbed the milk bottle. I cracked up a little bit. 🐯🐢

Yeah the way Galt's hand comes in and out of the frame is pretty funny (it's actually the newspaper he grabs). The milkman's little smile is priceless.

Also racy for the time is Mari removing her robe and slippers while Hardy watches. She's reflected in the mirror from behind, but the way the shot is backlit you can clearly see her legs up to her rear-end in that sheer nightie.
