Duke Green stunt

Republic fight scenes were the best choreographed in the industry. The stuntmen were professionals who knew their craft and highlighted their fights with leaps and massive destruction of furniture. It was pure wish fulfillment on our part because we knew if we tried that at home, we would be in big trouble. There didn't have to be any warning labels put on Republic fight scenes such as "Kids, don't try this at home. You might get hurt and Mom would be awfully mad." We had a few smarts than some of the "dysfunctional" youngster today. One scene in The Crimson Ghost shows stuntman Duke Green running half way up the wall to push off into the foray with Charles Quigley. This scene can be seen on the original trailer available on the Yahoo website.

They were also "The Men Who Never Lost Their Hats".

"Ou sont les neiges d'antant."

That stunt looks more like Tom Steele and Dale van Sickel running up the wall. Steele in an interview in The Republic Pictures Story explained bands kept their hats on while Richard Webb said his was different from his double's. Great doc dedicated to Steele.

Are you the same guy I corresponded with for such a long time? I've missed you after losing your contact info?
