or Adoration of the Kings, as in the film, was clearly a forgery, because the original is a painting on wood, not canvas.

Another plot hole is when George asks Mary to get Barton to meet up with him. If Mary's in cahoots with Dr. Lowell, that's the last thing they should have allowed. Killing George was more to the point.

Which raises another problem - Reynolds has some hold over Barton, and we're obviously meant to suspect that he's the villain of the piece, but no connection between him and Lowell is later established.
