can't believe they... spoilers

I can't believe the army forced the dog to walk through 6 inches of mud, without any kind of foot protection! And it must have been so cold, in the Aleutians... one of the soldiers tells the other one to wear his mittens, yet the dog gets no clothing or boots...

Wonder if that was for real???
