Just watched Canyon Passage today. Hadn't seen it since it first came out.
Gawd, what a dreadful movie. Dull, uninteresting and seriously flawed with Hoagy Carmichael caterwalling some off key songs every five minutes. The best part of the movie was when the native warrior destroyed his mandolin!
I was hoping this was going to be good, but it isn't. Far from it.

If you miss the wonder if this film, then you are without movie wonder. Heralded as one of the great ones, with the most brutal fight sequence ever shot, shadows and color and majesty infusing the great story then you are an odd sort, and I don't mean that as a compliment.
