Watching Canyon Passage Now

I am watching it right now on Starz Encore Westerns.

The color is nice but it seems like a western film noir. A lot of the scenes are inside or take place at night. The outside daytime scenes are all closed in by a tall forest. I haven't seen a canyon yet.

jamesbwill; I would like to know where it was filmed. In the back-round, in several shots, like the Cabin raising you can see the Caldera of a dormant Volcano. Much like how Mount St. Helens looks today. As for the 'canyon' I think that was chosen just to make title sound good. I guess, CALDERA PASSAGE just would not look right on the marque and only Geologist would get it.
