Really Not As Bad As Most of the MST3K Films
Just watched the MST3K version of this yesterday and it was hilarious; even funnier than most of the MST3Ks if you ask me.
But I want to say that, while I don't think this film was overlooked at the 1946 Oscars, I thought it was a heck of a lot better than most of the films that MST3K chooses to mock. Not a bad story, and they told it pretty well in comparison to a lot of the other MST3K victims. I realize that I'm setting the bar pretty darn low with that comment, but I figured I wanted to give credit where credit was due.
Maybe knowing a little bit about the tragic real-life story of Rondo Hatton helps; I don't know. But most of the films they target make me shake my head that people actually PAID MONEY TO SEE THEM IN A THEATER!! This one I don't find that hard to believe.
Why couldn’t I be Governor of Idaho? Kill a few potatoes; who’d care?
