Heat Wave was originally written by Irving Berlin for the 1933 musical As Thousands Cheer, and sung by Ethel Waters.

It was later featured in the 1938 movie Alexander's Ragtime Band, sung by Ethel Merman, in this movie Blue Skies, sung by Olga San Juan, and in the 1954 movie There's No Business Like Show Business, sung by a very sexy Marilyn Monroe.
