Film noir is so cool.

Over complicated, tough guys, vamp women, and double crosses. So what if I'm not sharp enough to follow them and have to watch it six times and keep playing back scenes to figure it out and still don't get it? The old film noir flicks of the forties were the greatest.

Yep. A very cool fun film, with unpredictable twists (keeps you guessing right up to the end)

It's my best rated genre here on IMDB which is somewhat surprising as I'm not unconditionally in love with it. I see its flaws and don't care for quite a few well regarded specimens, but numbers, presumably, don't lie.

Even though they had their hey-day 70 years ago now, the old vintage noirs are still interesting to view. The fact that a lot of us need re-watches to fully appreciate them is one of the genre's greatest strengths.

I LOVE Film Noir. Great stuff. If you haven't seen it, check out Raw Deal. Great low budget movie that looks great anyway thanks to the phenomenal cinematography by John Alton. Oh, and the story and acting are top notch, too!

And with these forums shutting down on IMDB we've created a new forum to talk about classic films, including a FILM NOIR section!
