Is this movie ever screened or are there any plans for dvd release?

So I have read the negative exist (nothing official though), but is never shown. Kurosawa never wanted to make this and it's more the film of the other directors than Kurosawa's.

I really hope it will be released one day, just to discover the only Kurosawa's movie we still cannot see ! Crossing fingers 
