Kerr's resemblance to Maureen O'Hara

Between Kerr's Irish dialect and the way she wore her hair I had to keep reminding myself that I was not watching Maureen O'Hara. Kerr's nose was very different from O'Hara's, but there were a couple of shots where she was lit in a certain way that the resemblance was absolutely uncanny.

I totally agree. I kept thinking of Maureen O'Hara, too. This is about as attractive as I ever recall Kerr looking, and I think it was the hair!

I think it's the voice, more than anything. O'Hara all the way. Either way, it's not exactly a jibe.

Deborah Kerr was always attractive... but, good lord, was she beautiful in this film. I agree - she's never looked better. Also: quite a funny performance in what's otherwise a fairly suspenseful, noir-esque thriller.

I agree as well. She very much resembles Ms. O'Hara.

The movie began so darkly, I almost didn't watch it, but knowing Deborah Kerr and Trevor Howard were in it I continued to watch and was richly rewarded. Kerr's resemblance to Maureen O'Hara was a constant plus for me in the movie, along with the light comedic elements.
