I love this movie!

It surprises me that no one has commented on it, as of yet. It features marvelous performances, all around, and a vibrant chemistry between the actors, especially the lovers, Lizbeth Scott and Bob Cummings. The script by Ayn Rand is intelligent and touching and real. I recommend this film very highly - an overlooked gem!

DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS MOVIE.

Me too!!
This is one of my all time favorite war movies. I saw it many years ago on AMC I guess...and haave been hoping it would make a return to TCM or AMC.
Bob Cummings is the best. I always wondered what was wrong with him, leukemia?
I cried so much at the end.

I saw this gem 30+ years ago on a local station's late night movie. I think I watched it because Bob Cummings was in it and I watched reruns of LOVE THAT BOB also on a local station. This movie really got to me. I haven't seen it since then. He and Lizabeth Scott were so great in it.

Don'cha think you're a little forward on such short acquaintance? You're compromisin' me.

@ninaskids

I downloaded this movie from youtube sometime ago and just got around to watch it. I don't know if my ending is correct or not. Cummings dies and his two buddies come to visit Lisabeth. The're about to have a drink when a plane dips when flying over the house, just as Bob Cummings used to do. Then the movie abruptly ends - no "The End," no credits.

Is that the way it ends?

I love it too. I had it taped, but it got destroyed. I wish TCM would show it again.

When did it show on TCM?

Movie girl: Not sure TCM aired it, but I think I got it from another collector. It has been a few years since I acquired it. My copy is pretty
good as I recall.

I have never seen this movie but my mother absolutely loved it and I am trying to find it for her for Christmas. Do you know if it is released on DVD? If not, how would I find out when it might be playing next? Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

Please let me know when the DVD is released. In the meantime, let´s request it from TCM US to show by them, if they have it on their library (since it´s a Paramount film, they might not have it).
