Feminism
Sorry to bring up this much discussed and often thin evidence topic but for my exam I have to do a section on Gendered cinema.
I will be using Fatal Attraction, Thelma and Louise, I Spit on your Grave, Baise Moi and The Last Seduction
I thought that The Wicked Lady would be good to contrast with the neo-noir Last Seduction. Although not a film noir, The Wicked Lady presents the classic traits of a Femme Fatal; the women in the film also appear to bend to their true loves' will, whilst the men can drop them and pick them up.
I found this to be especially true between the characters played by Patricia Roc and Griffith Jones.
Do you think I'm digging a bit deep?
If not, do you have any advice or suggestions of things I could say?
