In the film "TheWay to the Stars" were the external shots of the village/town street taken in Northallerton, North Yorkshire?

Yes, the outside shot of the Golden Lion is Northallerton. The other high street scene is Bedale, which is approx. 7 miles to the west of Northallerton.

I thought the village looked like Bedale. I also recognised the "Golden Lion" in Northallerton. I used to be based at RAF Leeming, just a few miles to the South, and we had our unit's christmas function at the Golden Lion back in 1995.....it hasn't changed much at all!
