The DVD-R of this film is being released today, 2/17/2010, by Warner Archives. Details and limited artwork (usual for this type of release) can be found at classicflix.com.

I'm kind of disappointed that Warner Archives is issuing VALLEY OF DECISION, since this course means there's now no hope of an 'official' release with any supplementary material - the fact that they also issued SUNRISE AT CAMPOBELLO indicates that Greer Garson's name doesn't mean much anymore, despite these being two of her Oscar-nominated performances. (I'm still in favor of the Archives concept, though, as its the only way many films are going to make it to DVD format - I'm just afraid that even Warners, despite their track record, is losing confidence even in well-regarded older high-profile films such as this.)

I bought the Warners DVD, and yes, it is a bare bones production. But at leaset I have it. Great film. I love Greer Garson, and Peck was very good in this. The whole cast was. Especially good also was Gladys Cooper as the matriarch. Also a very young Dean Stockwell as young Paulie.

But Greer is always awesome, and made this picture. The character of Mary as written was not an easy one to pull off, I think. But Greer did pull it off, and its another great performance by her.
