My set arrived and the transfers are excellent. TREE has a very nice Documentary called THE MAKING OF A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN which features Kazan, Ted Donaldson and Richard Schickel. It's short at only 15 minutes but it is very well done. There is also a short tribute to Dorothy McGuire and a few newsreel clips that are interesting. The feature has a commentary track with Richard Schickel, Ted Donaldson and Norman Lloyd (stage director who worked with McGuire and co-producer for Alfred Hitchcock Presents TV series).
So if you have Blu-ray (if you don't you should) then skip the DVD Elia Kazan set and go for this. I'm thrilled to finally have such a beautiful copy of one of my all-time favorite films.
