This is the very best of the MGM Esther Williams movies. The story has enough suspense to keep you wondering "will she or won't she?" (if it hadn't been a 1950 MGM movie I'll bet the result would have been different!)and Lauritz Melchior was wonderful. Esther should be proud of this one!

I agree completely, 803etc... I thought it utterly delightful and charming. Why does everything have to be so serious to be worthwhile? I also thought the music and singing wonderful. I only regret I cannot see it again for the first time.
PS And I would kill to have Esther's physique!
Just being nit-picky, but this was released in 1945, not 1950.
shareThis is definately my favorite Esther Williams movie. I DVRd it. Before I knew of this one, I liked On An Island With You as my favorite. Then I caught this one on TCM. It then became my favorite.
