is it just me or is this movie kick ass?

i pretty much grew up with this movie, it's one of my favourites! do you all like it as much as me?

reply

I used to watch it all the time. I think I wore out the tape (or maybe it was just too old.)

I watched it today and yesterday in my german class (my teacher had a lot of things to do so he just put on a video) and I must say my favorite parts in the movie are those with the annoying little bird that runs around sounding like a broken record. :D

The crazy little bird is an ARACUAN...

I remember watching this constantly when I was in first grade. I look at it now and feel like dancing when they were in Brazil. That music was crazy!

completely agree. nobody else that i know likes it though! it's vastly underrated as a disney film.

reply

I agree. I had a book of Disney stories when I was a kid and always wondered where Joe Carioca was from. Now I've bought and watched Saludos Amigos and The Three caballeros on DVD and I have to say this is a fantastic film.

I was a bit disappointed by it to be honest. I suppose that's mainly because I was expecting it to have some sort of plot rather than a fairly random selection of short pieces.

The first 20 minutes or so with the penguin who hated the cold and the flying donkey were fairly charming little stories and the Mexican bird was entertaining enough to make the last 20 minutes worth while too. However, the middle section I found a trial to watch. I think the dancing scene lasted longer than was needed and the music wasn't very good either compared to the standard you usually get in a Disney film. Only the title song was really any good at all.

duhhh.. it's not supposed to have a plot. this was my absolute favorite movie when I was little annnd I really think it deserves a little more credit.
