Do the people that write reviews watch??

Every time I come to IMDB after seeing an o9ld film and I read the reviews , most of the time a comment is so far out in left field it's as if the person didn't watch the film.

"Soon afterwards, the waitress comes over to the table and the jests of the soldiers suggest that she has been a lazy Susan that all of them fed off of at least once, and then -- judging by her bitter hardness -- discarded."

That's what someone wrote back in 2006?? The main character was a cad, played by Robert Young, basically a love 'em and leave em' rich playboy Lt. The waitress was mad because she was the last girl he had dumped before latching onto the character Larraine Day played. Thinking the waitress was off that day (which his friend quickly told him) he brought Day to the airfield to play his familiar scene of going off to war as a preclude to dumping her as he had all the others.
