Huge misfire!

Saw this film for the first time this morning on TCM. Only one actor stood out with looks or personality in this musical. Anne Jeffreys , who was not known for singing, is the only pleasing personality in this film. The so called teenagers look close to 25 or older. Drab costumes and old looking hair-dos really hurt the girls. It also didn't help that not one of the "kids' is a known face!

In the user reviews here someone posted in their review that Anne Jeffreys sings 'the Lord's Prayer', which I thought was odd. Actually she does not. It was sung by one of the teens.

Awful movie, yes, even for its time. But the hairstyles were of that era. How would they know that hair perfection was to be reached in the late 1960s and still exists today -- long, straight and parted in the middle. In some ways we today are still living in the 1960s.
