Fun To Watch

I had never seen this one until it premiered on TCM this morning. Roz is wonderful as usual. Adele Jergens gives a fine comic performance too. And who doesn't love Harry Davenport?!

I just watched it too. It was a cute little gem, made better by a fine cast.Russell always adds class.

I just saw it last night. Russell's weakest film. Unfunny, and just terrible.

Rosalind is always delightful but the movie falls short as entertainment. The plot is a little too insipid, and Lee Bowman's character is obnoxiously boorish. In fact, the happy ending I was hoping for was that he would run off with Adele Jergens and thereby Rosalind would be mercifully free of him.

I not only found the movie entertaining, I actually laughed a lot. I liked everyone in it but I particularly enjoyed the scenes involving Susan and the judge; she thought he was crazy and he thought she was. The judge's wife and neighbor kept up with them toe-to-toe.

To enjoy the movie, one has to take it for what it is; a lighthearted romantic comedy with a message. Anyone dead-set on seeing something deeper will probably be disappointed.
